About Expandable Language®
Background
Expandable Language® was founded as Parker & Associates in 1994
by Terence M. Parker. Parker & Associates released its first
product, HTML Rename!®, in
December 1996. HTML Rename! has won wide recognition as a unique
application, including nomination as one of five finalists in the Web
Design Tools category of the 1997 Ziff-Davis Shareware Awards.
In 1998 Terence renamed the company, choosing
the name Expandable Language. "Expandable Language"
refers to the technologies used by our customersthe markup
languages HTML and XML, and to the flexibility of our applications, which
grow to meet the complexities of these ever-evolving technologies.
Before founding Expandable Language, Terence Parker had 10 years
of experience in Berkeley software companies. Terence's roles in
software startups have included Vice President of Engineering at
Vividata, Inc., principal designer of Caere's OmniPage optical character
recognition product for UNIX/Motif, and development team member
of Pharsight's clinical drug trial modeling and simulation software.
