Parker & Associates Becomes Expandable Language

ALAMEDA, CALIF. - Dec 8, 1998 -- Parker & Associates, maker of HTML Rename!™, today announced that it will be doing business under the new name Expandable Language™.

"We chose the name 'Expandable Language' to reflect the ever-evolving technologies used by our customers — the markup languages HTML and XML," said Terence Parker, president of Expandable Language. "Under this new name we will release applications that meet the increasing complexities of these technologies, focussing on the automation of web site repair and maintenance."

Parker & Associates' first product, HTML Rename!, will now be sold under the Expandable Language name. HTML Rename! assists in migrating web sites from a development environment to a CD-ROM or remote server by changing file names (case, length, and invalid characters) and fixing corresponding links in HTML code. HTML Rename! changes an entire site in one batch process, converting all of the files to work on a choice of target file systems: Windows, Macintosh, UNIX or CD-ROM.

Current customers of Expandable Language include: Barclays Bank PLC, British Aerospace PLC, Intel Network Systems, John Hancock, Levi Straus, the National Library of Canada, and the United Nations.

In addition, Parker & Associates announced the move of its offices from San Anselmo, CA to Alameda, CA.

It has assisted as the principal designer of Caere's OmniPage optical character recognition product for UNIX/Motif and on the development team of Pharsight's clinical drug trial modeling and simulation software.
